Strategic Partners / International Development Manager - Irish Management Institute

About this job
This is a business development role, identifying new strategic partnerships both in Ireland and internationally to grow our business and grow our service offerings. It will require strong commercial acumen and an ability to develop new business relationships at a senior level in organisations. Channel partner identification and development is required as well as international experience. This is a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and develop business opportunities internationally either directly or through channel partners. 
  • Identify new product/ service offering opportunities for the IMI and a route to market.
  • Responsible for a revenue target for each business year, this figure will be a percentage of overall revenue for the Commercial Division.
  • Have full accountability and responsibility for such new IMI strategic partners / channel or end clients and serving as a “thought partner” to aid in the design of solution focused programmes and projects.
  • Collaborate appropriately with University College Cork to develop relationships through their international partner network.
  • Respond to tender requests internationally.
  • All proposals and presentations to clients must be representative of the high professional service the IMI delivers.
  • Responsible for the appropriate positioning of all IMI offerings in the target markets.
  • Develop strong relations and work collaboratively with other departments within the IMI to ensure that IMI projects and programmes are resourced and delivered to a high level. 
Experience and qualifications required:
Substantial business development experience in a relevant role, incorporating all aspects of identifying and winning new business, negotiating, implementing and developing client relationships internationally.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and skills to build new channels to market either directly or through strategic partnerships internationally.
  • A deep understanding of the strategic selling and marketing process.
  • Experience of using technology in the sales process, including CRM, Sales navigator, and marketing tools.
  • Experience in managing budgets effectively, financial reporting and have strong excel and power point skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of the executive educational environment would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of learning solutions, or consulting solutions would be an advantage.
  • A full, clean driving license is a requirement.

  • Superior strategic planning and organisational skills, be self driven, well organised, and able to work independently with a hands-on execution style.
  • Proven ability to align and integrate individual and team goals with overall Institute strategy.
  • Takes a broad and deep interest in the success and development of the Institute.
  • Professional and tactful approach. 
  • Flexible and be able to work outside standard business hours as required. 
There is a requirement for international travel in this role.
