Chair in Strategy - Surrey Business School

About this job
Surrey Business School is seeking to recruit a Chair in Strategy for its Department of Strategy & Entrepreneurship. Surrey Business School (SBS) is an internationally recognised centre for management research and teaching. We are accredited by AACSB (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and by AMBA (the Association of MBAs). We are ambitious in building a world-class interdisciplinary business school where innovative thinking is accelerated into action. Based in Guildford just outside of London, the University of Surrey is an outstanding international University with an enterprising spirit.

The Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship has core research strengths in entrepreneurship, organisation, and strategy. Our research increasingly considers the links between strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, and we are looking to expand this area. The Department has grown strongly in recent years, and will continue to do so in future. We thus seek to appoint a Chair of Strategy who is also willing to provide leadership in the Department and support its future development.

We are looking for a strong research-active academic with an excellent track record of publications in top international journals. You would lead the development of the research agenda of the Department: Supervising PhD students, mentoring early career researchers, and attracting and managing externally funded research programmes.

The Chair in Strategy will be a full-time permanent position commensurate with the appointee’s experience and expertise.
