Assistant/Associate Professor of International Business

ESSCA School of Management is offering a permanent position as Assistant /Associate Professor in International Business and/ or European Studies.

The successful candidate will contribute in the conceptualisation and implementation of teaching and research activities in the field of European Studies at ESSCA School of Management, Angers. The candidate will be involved in the Undergraduate and Graduate programmes in European Studies and will be expected to coordinate courses.

In particular, teaching duties include courses the first-year course of “The EU in a globalised World” and courses on European Studies in third-year electives and the third-year core course in International Trade. Candidates with a secondary expertise in Economics or Business disciplines would be highly appreciated.

Candidates must have a PhD in Social Sciences, ideally European Studies, or a related field such as Economics. Candidates aspiring to the position of Associate Professor must be able to show teaching experience with a minimum of three years in higher education in their respective discipline. The language of instruction will be English. The command of both written and oral English should be excellent. The candidate should have an intermediate level of French to facilitate administrative tasks and integration into the environment of a French Business School. Experience in an international academic environment would be an asset.

Regular publications in reputable journals and with good publishers are expected and should be based on an active research agenda. A list of publications should show publication in European Studies or related fields. Interdisciplinary work would be highly advantageous in making the connection to Economics and Business Disciplines.

A Ph.D. is required as well as an innovative, managerially-relevant research agenda.

The appointment is as of September 2017. The position will be based in ANGERS.
