Business Schools and University Faculties of Management must continually align their portfolio of degree and non-degree programmes with changes in their educational environment and in their intended market positioning as their strategic ambitions evolve.
On the one hand, they must decide in which market segments they are going to offer programmes: undergraduate degrees, post-Bachelor Masters in Management, Specialised Masters, MBA degrees, Executive Education programmes.
On the other hand, they must identify the student markets they are targeting, in their own national market but also in the international market.
The challenge is to construct a balanced and coherent offering of programmes that corresponds to the School’s mission, strategic choices and resource capabilities as well as to changing market needs. In the wake of the Bologna reforms many Schools and Faculties in Europe are for the first time faced with the necessity to think strategically about competitive positioning and programme differentiation.
With input from the EQUIS and EPAS experience supported by the testimony of two Schools from different countries, the Seminar will help participants to diagnose the competitive positioning of their own Schools and to think strategically about future developments.
