Theme
The New Frontiers of Executive Development

This conference will explore the changing and evolving models of partnership between L&D providers and companies. There is no longer clear-cut provider-customer relationship but a co-creation, co-design and/or co-deployment partnership. This becomes even more challenging in situations where budget pressures require achieving more with less. The conference will use the Excellence in Practice Award cases to feed in different sessions.  The intention of the conference is to involve a maximum diversity of actors, including business schools, alternative providers and also companies."

Target group
This conference is aimed at the professionals in the Executive Development sector, namely the business schools / alternative provider of executive education (executive development centres, consultants, network providers) as well as the clients (companies).

"For the first time in 2012, it was decided to open the EFMD Executive Development conference to both business schools and companies. We decided to invite 3 large corporate client representatives, who were eager to accept our invitation. It was a challenge, as we knew they would be in contact with all the other business schools at the conference. However, I strongly believed that it was worth the risk. The result was a big success as the companies felt very grateful for the experience, we managed to be together outside our daily professional environment, and have the opportunity to get to know each other much better and reinforce a personal connection. As a consequence our relationship has become much stronger. In short, it was a great experience that I strongly recommend and we will surely repeat in future editions."
Luis Cardoso, Executive Education Director, Catolica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, Universidade Catolica Portuguesa, Portugal

Please note that exceptionally for this conference EFMD has changed the hotel booking procedure. Indeed, hotel booking prices and general conditions (cancellation conditions, etc.) are much better on an individual bases and as there are many hotels in the vicinity (walking distance) of the Stockholm School of Economics IFL Executive Education, we thought this would be easier and better for everyone.

TeaterX uses an interactive improve-form called Playback theatre that has its roots in experimental theatre and storytelling. In a Playback performance, that often has a theme, the actors mirror what the audience share with a magical blend of poetry, music and movement. A Playback performance is a “here and now” experience and is always unique since it is improvised and not based on a script.

In this workshop session, we will start by detailing how lean can be understood in a service setting, and move on to discussing its application in executive education.
