Quality of Entrepreneurship Programmes in Europe (QEPE) Context Point of outstanding interest in the Lisbon Strategy for Jobs and Growth, Entrepreneurship constitutes a challenge of higher economic, business, scientific and technical education at the crossroad of Bologna process. Entrepreneurship education provides specific training on how to start and run a business, including the capacity to draft a business plan and the skills associated with identifying and assessing business opportunities. Also, it will encourage and support embryonic business ideas (for instance by providing special loans, business facilities, mentorship, etc.) – so that well-researched projects can be put into practice and finally reach the market. The number of Entrepreneurship programmes in Europe has grown significantly in the recent years and strong growth is expected in the coming years. However, the education remains nationally focused, there are major divergences between the Member States and more needs to be done in the areas of curriculum development, creating a critical mass of entrepreneurship teachers and cross-border faculty and research collaborations. At this stage it is essential to proceed to an exchange of good practices and engage in a process of benchmarking among higher education institutions and companies. Project Aims and Objectives
