Theme
RBS Leadership Development Programme

After having been negatively impacted by the financial crisis of autumn 2008, RBS embarked on a Leadership Development Programme (LDP) with INSEAD and Wharton to support delivery of the Strategic Plan, refocus on the customer and return the group to standalone strength.

The programme was made up of the top 1100 most senior leaders in the global business with particular focus on the key Strategic Plan elements of Value Creation and Risk Management.

The programme changed participants’ perspectives of their role as a leader within RBS, and started the process of developing a critical mass of leaders within RBS with new skills. More than three quarters of alumni report they are now applying key concepts from the programme to some extent or higher.

Beyond the key elements of the programme’s content and the importance its impact had to play on the business’s recovery plan, Peter McGrath (RBS), Eric Weiner (Wharton) and Mark Roberts (INSEAD) will provide details on notable features of the LDP that made it stand out.

Time will be made available at the end of the webinar for those who have specific questions related to the Excellence in Practice Award 2012.

  • Peter McGrath, Group Head of Leadership & Performance Management, RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland), UK.
