Alumni Communications: Are you facilitating conversations and building relationships, or just broadcasting news?

Target Group
You will benefit from this workshop if you are involved in any aspect of alumni relations and communications.

Seminar Objectives
We all talk about our mission of building lifelong relationships with our alumni. And we know communications are a vital tool. The costs of print and mail have become prohibitive, especially as your community becomes increasingly global. Online platforms and social media channels have proliferated. This puts e-communications at the heart of your alumni engagement strategy. Are they doing the job – or are you just pushing out “propaganda” to your alumni?

AlumniMatters research indicates that generally less than 20% of alumni definitely agree that their school communicates effectively on any topic. Whilst almost 80% of alumni feel broadly positive towards their business school, barely half that number feel connected or engaged.

This seminar has been designed to be highly practical and results–focused. It offers participants the opportunity to step back from a busy office and develop new insights and to refresh your knowledge with practical concepts, tools and techniques to support your communications activities. It will also provide an opportunity for sharing and networking with fellow professionals facing the same daily challenges.

Moderated by Sarah Seedsman, formerly Director, Alumni Relations at London Business School and Associate Dean, External Relations, Melbourne Business School
