DEVELOPING CURRICULUM AND PEDAGOGY RELEVANT TO ASIAN CONTEXT
Context matters. This is not news to social scientists. However, it is not paid sufficient attention in the field of management. Developing Asian-context relevant curriculum and pedagogy requires efforts on:

  • Developing curriculum to understand the social and business environments in Asian countries
  • Creating pedagogical tool to help adapt ‘Universal Concept’ into ‘Contextual Learning’
  • Developing original teaching materials for areas such as family business management, entrepreneurship development, business-model innovations, leveraging/integrating SMEs, ‘informal economy’ and other areas

Asian business schools must renew their efforts to go global. We must compete and excel on global benchmarking parameters such as accreditation, rankings, etc. However, we must also influence and reshape the global benchmarks to understand and adopt the context of ‘Asia’ in their processes and matrix.

Asian Management Conclave 'DOING BUSINESS IN ASIA' Curriculum Development Project
To make real impact, in partnership with leading Asian business schools, the Asian Management Conclave will coordinate the development of 'Doing Business in Asia' curriculum. Asian B-schools from China, Japan, India Thailand, Malaysia, Middle-East have come together to develop this curriculum, focusing on their respective countries.
This initiative will benefit both Asian B-schools and B-schools in rest of the world. By teaching thisn curriculum, Asian B-schools shall produce 'Asian Managers' who are more adept at Asian business management. US, European, Latin American and B-schools in other regions & Corporates will benefit from availability of diverse and well researched content & curriculum on Doing Business in Asia. This project will be mentored by leading academic who is foremost authority on Globalization of Management education.

At this AMC session, Deans & Directors from Partner B-schools will present unique management & business ideas from their country, and give a glimpse of the curriculum
