Most business-university interactions involve two partners: one providing the business problem, the other providing a knowledge intensive solution. While this works well for established companies, a critical piece is missing for start-ups: venture capital.

In this case we document the synergistic interaction between university (Bentley), start-up (KickApps) and venture capital (Prism). While more complex than the traditional two-way model, it breaks new ground and offers important benefits from both a managerial and academic perspective.
