AINP Europe is a partnership between EFMD and GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) that combines the expertise, networks and knowledge of two of the industry’s leading bodies to deliver a robust program essential for every new professional in admissions.

Programme Overview

AINP Europe is unlike anything currently offered in the market. Designed as a cohort learning, executive education experience, this programme utilizes a combined learning methodology that includes lectures, cases, group discussions, workshops, and individual contribution to help participants master the admissions profession. Experiential learning is key.

Target Audience

AINP Europe is targeted to professionals from a variety of schools—large, small, global, and regional—with work experience between six to 36 months in graduate management admissions.

The graduate management education (GME) industry is constantly evolving, making our work in admissions ever more challenging. It has grown exponentially, resulting in a broad offering of programs, formats and schools with ever more diverse student bodies. Candidate needs and behaviors have also evolved. Even with easy access to more information than ever, candidates expect individual treatment today as well as customized programs tailored specifically for them. This introductory session will provide an overview of how the industry has evolved, the forces affecting it, and current trends shaping its future. It will begin a dialogue that will continue throughout the program regarding the challenges faced by new admissions professionals, and the opportunities to make our jobs easier by collaborating with key stakeholders in the admissions process.

Power in the Ranks: Introduction to Rankings
Rankings are a major influencer in the decision-making process of most, if not all, candidates. Understanding how the different rankings work, what they measure and how your program is positioned relative to the marketplace is key in responding to stakeholder inquiries and helping to better position your program relative to competitors. This session will provide an overview of global ranking methodologies and will use a practical case study of the Cave Hill Business School, an imaginary institution based in the European city of Londrid, to implement key learnings and concepts to make you a more effective professional when speaking to prospective candidates about your program.

How to Position your Programs in a Competitive Market
Understanding your program’s differentiating factors and using this information to communicate to candidates in different markets is key to standing out in a crowded graduate management education market. This session will review global b-school trends including applicant motivations, values and decision-making processes with an emphasis on European schools and applicants wanting to study in Europe. It will introduce important concepts such as segmentation and positioning and apply them to Cave Hill Business School’s outreach initiatives. You will gain insights into cultural aspects that affect when, why and how candidates apply, making you a more effective GME recruiter.

As a new admissions professional, you will face a host of challenges intrinsic to the GME industry. They will also discuss developmental tips for new professionals to the field. Come prepared with questions and be ready to share your own knowledge.

The Application: Initial Review to Effectively Prepare the Interview
The application is the basis for candidate evaluation. Each school carefully crafts the application questions, essays, and supporting documents to gain key insights into an applicant’s background, experience, decision-making process, ability, and fit. This session will share key tools to analyze the different components of an application with the goal of better understanding prospective students to prepare an effective interview. It will include information on trends and new techniques employed by schools to innovate the application process and stay on top of technology and other changes in the market.

Although there is no right way to interview, all successful interviews have this in common: they create situations in which information can be exchanged easily, evaluated fairly, and communicated clearly. Selection interviews give you a unique opportunity to obtain applicant information that is either impossible or impractical to get any other way. How you use the interviews becomes critical to your success in selecting top candidates. This session will help you build an effective interview process, learn the latest techniques, and improve your skills.

Your Secret Weapon: Consultative Sales
Marketing, Admissions, and Recruiting departments work together to increase applications, manage yield and ensure consistent student quality year over year. However, ensuring they find the right “fit” between what a candidate expects and what a program can deliver to meet those expectations is key for long term success. This session will present the concept of consultative sales, active listening and consistent messaging, and their importance within the application process to a program.

Strategies for Crafting a Class: Understanding Tough Admissions Decisions
Based on applicant information from the Cave Hill Business School case study, this session will mimic a real Admissions Committee where candidates are reviewed and their merits debated, taking into consideration the interests of various stakeholders in the selection process. Yield concepts will also be introduced in the discussion, as program enrollment is the ultimate goal of all marketing, recruiting and admissions departments. You will walk away with actionable strategies to ensure conversion after an admissions decision is communicated. This highly interactive simulation will allow you to see how different admissions and yielding themes and topics converge into a true-life-situation.

Participants should use the online pre-registration form provided here. Following receipt of participant and school details, a confirmation email will be sent informing whether the registration has been accepted..

A maximum of 25 participants will be admitted to the Seminar in order to enable close interaction with the Seminar leaders and speakers. Registration will close as soon as this number has been reached. Normally, a maximum of two representatives from the same institution will be admitted to this Seminar.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be confirmed in writing. If we receive notice of your withdrawal before 31 March 2017, a cancellation administrative fee of 90,75€ (75€ + 21% VAT) will be charged. Thereafter, we regret that we are unable to refund any fees.
